5 Essential Drumset Books for all Skill Sets

5 Essential Drumset Books for all Skill Sets

I have to say, coming up with books for this post was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. Why? Simply put, I revisit these books every single year at some point in time to regain reference or spark new ideas/motivation.

Expanding Your Creativity

Expanding Your Creativity

First off, don't confuse this plateau you're in with being a bad player as I did early on. If you're doing something well and you're getting gigs, (paid or not as long as you're having fun) chances are you're doing something right and there is nothing wrong with that.

Build Your Audience

Build Your Audience

Once you've locked in your posting schedule, it's time to start interacting. This goes deeper than just following other channels similar to yours. Join related forums and conversations on Reddit, Facebook, blogs, podcasts, etc.

Endorsements

Endorsements

What does that mean? Well first off, it's often mis-understood that an endorsement is a deal as such:

Artist - "Hi, I'm Jimmy Warner and I am a killer player. Will you sponsor me with free gear?"

Company - "Well Jimmy, what can you offer for our company?"

Take control of YOUR LIFE. If you want something, go for it. Real life advice: no one's going to hand it to you. You want to start a blog, just fuckin do it. You want to get a website going, do it. You will never be awesome right out of the gates. Learn as you go, set small goals for yourself, and go for it.
